Hyderabad is on the fast track of development as far as the Information Technology is concerned. Hyderabad the capital city of Telangana, India, is the sixth largest city in India. The city has grown by leaps and bounds by almost five hundred percent since the last 4 decades. And there are over 811 slums in the city that are officially recognized by the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.

In most of the slums, the living condition of the people is deprived of minimum basic necessities required for dignified life. Accessibility of education and developmental opportunities for the youth living in the slums are very limited. Inspite of the above, in Hyderabad the incidence of political instigation, involving the youth for communal and political profits are very high.

The rationale for the project is to promote computer literacy among the Youth of Urban Slums of old city of Hyderabad towards making them compatible with others in this competitive world. Whereas, accessing technical education especially the computer skill is a distant dream for most of the Youth living in these slums.

The proposed computer centers at their slums will tend to make them acquaint with computer skills. This not only will widen the new horizons of the conservative and traditional mindsets but also will open up a good career prospects for these girls for better and dignified living.

The proposed centers will not only provide them with computer literacy, but also will acquaint them with Personality development, Spoken English and leader ship skills. Apart this they will be involved in the Community awareness and Sensitization programmes

Sustainability of the ABBR

As it indicated, the proposed computer centers will not only provide the Computer Literacy/Education but also will show a path to the youth and develop their self-confidence and self-esteem through Technical Education and indirectly it will address the social issue.

The interventions will also develop a lot of linkages with ongoing programmes of the government for the benefit of the children from the center and state. The interventions will not only development computer skills to the youth but also enable them to become constructive and contributing citizens of the society. The trained members will become role models to other youth members. The process will continue by developing strong community and government linkages for sustainability of the process.

Since the inception of the society is offering job oriented computer courses on a very nominal fee structures towards benefiting the low profiled income earning youth members. Apart this the organization is also conducting Computer & Vocational Training Courses for Girls as well as Ladies like Garment Making with Fashion Designing, Beautician, Flower Arrangement, Fabric and Glass Painting, Soft Toy Making, Embroidery etc.

Apart this the ABBR is also providing trainings in CCTV Camera Repairing and Installation, Mobile Repairing, Communication Skill in English Language proficiency, and awareness programmes on various socio-economic and cultural issues towards building the overall capacities of the youth of old city of Hyderabad.
